WILLIAM G. SMITH & ASSOCIATES SEMINAR TOPICS

WILLIAM G. SMITH & ASSOCIATES offers a spectrum of seminars targeting a diverse audience ranging from executive management to technical IS/IT data and process modelers and analysts, and business persons who will participate in information resource (data, program code, and computer technology) development projects. All of our seminars inform/educate, but most are hardcore skill-builders. In the skill-building seminars, we teach a step-by-step work flow, definitions of all terms, and unambiguous rules for doing the work, with as much hands-on workshop time as can be squeezed into the timeframe of the seminar. Our instructors are expert practitioners in the subject matter they teach, and welcome a give-and-take interaction with students to make the seminar as valuable and useful as possible. Our objective is always to ensure that every student leaves a WGS&A seminar absolutely capable of using the education/skills they've been taught.
SEMINAR PRICING. We price our inhouse seminars on a per day basis, not a per student basis, to allow our clients to train more people for less cost than most seminar providers. All of our seminars are priced at the rate of $4000.00 per day of instruction, plus actual direct expenses (travel, lodging, meals, reproduction, shipping, etc.) attributable to the seminar. For the skill-building seminars, we do establish a maximum number of 25 students, as the intense workshops usually require that the instructor be able to interact with all the student groups. All of our seminars have a substantial student handout that will serve as a complete guidebook and reference.
If WGS&A provides the student handouts, the expense of reproduction, binding, and shipping the student handout books will be added to the seminar fee. To minimize cost, most of our clients prefer to have WGS&A provide a master copy of the student handout along with reproduction authorization and instructions, as the client can usually produce the handouts inhouse for its students at less expense than WGS&A can. Graduated discounts are available for clients who use more than fifteen days of WGS&A training in a calendar year.
We categorize our seminars below, with a link to each specific seminar where an abstract, complete topical outline, duration, maximum number of students (if any), and appropriate audience for the subject matter presented is available.
